This Week's Police News:
- Three people were injured, one transported to a nearby hospital via helicopter, in a three-car crash late Friday morning in Woodbury, according to Nassau County Police.
On Campus: Syosset School News This Week
- Syosset Board of Education president Marc Herman surprised residents with his announcement that he will not seek reelection when his term expires next year. In addition, he announced he will not attempt re-appointment to the position of board president this year.
- Evan Kappatos and Brian Sheng get to play one more high school football game together. The duo were selected to the Long Island squad of the 15th annual United Healthcare Empire Challenge high school football all-star game.
- Students at got a surprise when a famous alumni strolled down the hall with a big-time journalist. Anderson Cooper interviewed Syosset alum Judd Apatow in his alma mater Tuesday, causing a stir with teenage fans. The two celebrities were later spotted in a Syosset diner, according to one Twitter user. Check out the excited tweets students and residents sent out.

- Syosset resident Sheila Kastner will be one of the honorees at this year's Kidney & Urology Foundation of America's Hat & Author Luncheon being held at the Woodlands Mansion in Woodbury on June 7th. Kastner is an avid volunteer for many organizations across Long Island.

- Owners of a Woodbury shopping strip are asking the Town of Oyster Bay to help them get more breathing room. The town held a hearing Tuesday on a request by the owners of 8025 Jericho Realty Corp's request to remove a buffer area near the intersection of South Woods Road and Jericho Turnpike.
