Town To Build New 9/11 Memorial Park In Syosset

Construction on the new park is expected to begin soon.

SYOSSET, NY - The Town of Oyster Bay will be opening a new 9/11 memorial park in Syosset next year.

The 6,000-square-foot park will be located across from the Syosset Fire Department station on Cold Spring Road.

Town officials did not give a specific date on when construction will begin, however it is expected to start "at any time."

The idea for the park came in 2015 after an agreement was made between the Town and the fire district.

The park will include two steel columns from the World Trade Center, flagpoles, lamp posts, benches and dedication plaques.
