• A project to grow Syracuse's tree canopy takes Le Moyne students to the forest (localsyr.com) — Syracuse's parks department is working with Le Moyne College students to catalog wildlife in Homer Wheaton Park as part of a major effort to boost the city's tree canopy from 27% to 34% by 2040. Backed by a $2 million state grant, the project uses tools like the iNaturalist app to guide where thousands of new trees will be planted in city neighborhoods.
