Traffic alert: Dept. of Transportation to close I-81 ramp to I-481 in Syracuse (cnycentral.com) — If you drive I-81 through Syracuse, expect a major detour today: the southbound off-ramp to I-481 northbound will be closed from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. for I-81 Viaduct Project work. Drivers will be routed along East Glen Avenue, East Brighton Avenue, and Rock Cut Road back to I-481, with timing dependent on weather conditions.

3. DEC Approves Cleanup at Future Syracuse Public Safety Building Site (fingerlakesdailynews.com) — Plans for Syracuse's new Public Safety Building took a big step forward as state officials approved cleanup at the 1153-69 West Fayette Street site. Contaminated soil and a hidden petroleum tank were removed, protective systems installed, and the project now qualifies for tax credits to help move redevelopment ahead under New York's Brownfield Cleanup Program.

FRIDAY-SUNDAY WHITE HOUSE SCHEDULE - President Trump travels to Syracuse Friday and then Tuscaloosa Saturday for the Georgia-vs-Alabama football game (tradingview.com subscription) — President Trump is scheduled to fly into Syracuse today, deliver remarks at The Oncenter this evening, and then return to Washington the same night. The White House schedule also outlines his weekend trips to Tennessee, Alabama, and Virginia, but Syracuse residents will see the biggest local impact from tonight's rally and related security and traffic changes.
