The State Fair Is Featured On Classic New York History
Article traces the legacy of the great fair.

New York county fairs are filled to the brim with attractions, rides, gardening and animal displays, and plenty of food. The fairs operate during the summer or fall and can last for a handful of days, a week, or several weeks.
Many of these county fares are large events, but state residents need to broaden their fair experiences and attend the much larger Great New York State Fair. The state fair is featured in a new article – History Of The Great New York State Fair – that appears on Classic New York History. The website features news, stories and the history of New York.
The article summarizes the history of the New York fair, revealing how the event settled permanently in Geddes after traveling throughout the state during its formative years. The feature also mentions some of the fair’s ups and downs, and recalls that the fair was not held during World War I and World War II as the fairgrounds were turned over to the military for training operations.
