• Greenport Rescue Squad expands to southern Columbia County (dailygazette.com) — Taghkanic residents now have Greenport Rescue Squad ambulance coverage after a county-backed expansion that added five southern Columbia County towns, funded partly by annual town contributions. Crews are operating from a temporary Livingston base while leaders search for permanent facilities, and rising call volumes tied to an aging population are prompting plans for more staff and new ambulances.
