• Palisades preschool plans to close, cites South Orangetown district dispute over lease (news12.com) — Families in Tappan and nearby towns are scrambling after Red Owl Academy, a preschool on Oak Tree Road in Palisades, announced it will close in mid‑August following a lease dispute with the South Orangetown School District. Parents, including at least one from Tappan, say they’re disappointed and are now urgently searching for new childcare and pre‑K options as the district reclaims space and promotes Universal Pre‑K placements.
