2 Arraigned For Tarrytown Mail Theft
One alleged victim was a school district that had more than $44,000 worth of checks stolen.

TARRYTOWN, NY — Two Bronx men were arraigned Thursday in connection with the theft of mail in Tarrytown. Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino Jr. said that Sean Dash, 21, and Jade Williams, 19, both of the Bronx, face a 32-count indictment.
Each man has been charged with the following felonies:
- Third-degree grand larceny
- Third-degree criminal possession of stolen property
They were both charged with the following misdemeanors:

- 14 counts of fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property
- 13 counts of petit larceny
- Attempted petit larceny
Williams is also charged with two vehicular violations.

Scarpino said that, on May 18, around 2:35 a.m., Tarrytown police saw a man acting suspiciously in front of a mailbox located just blocks from the post office.

A second man was in a vehicle acting as a lookout, police said.
An investigation found that a "garbage bag" full of assorted mail and a mailbox key in their car, according to authorities.

Police said the garbage bag contained 14 separate victims' mail, which had been stolen from a second mailbox directly in front of the post office.
One victim was the Tarrytown school district which had $44,380.91 worth of checks in the mail, police said.
Dash and Williams were arrested by Tarrytown police.
Bail or bond was set at $25,000 for Dash and $10,000 for Williams.
Their next court appearance is set for Oct. 16.
