GREENBURGH, NY — Two New York City men face multiple charges after State Police found them allegedly passing marijuana around during a traffic stop on the Sprain Brook Parkway.
Police said on March 22 they observed a black Mercedes going northbound on the parkway that wasn’t staying in its lane.
The car was stopped in the area of mile marker 8 and a Trooper said he observed the passenger — William Allen, 34 — pass several bags of marijuana to the driver — Derrick C. Sutton, 30.

Allen, who was out of the car while being interviewed, fled from the scene on foot.
Sutton was pursued northbound where he tried to exit the parkway onto Dobbs Ferry Road.
He left the roadway and struck a cement barrier before he fled from his vehicle on foot.
With the assistance of the Greenburgh Police, Sutton was located on the southbound ramp of the Sprain Brook Parkway and placed in custody.
Allen was also located by the Greenburgh Police on Secor Road and taken into custody.
Troopers saw clues that Sutton was allegedly impaired and was evaluated by the arresting officer and a State Police drug recognition expert.
Police determined that Sutton was impaired and unable to safely operate a motor vehicle.
Sutton was charged with first-degree reckless endangerment, first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and tampering with physical evidence, all felonies; resisting arrest, third-degree unlawful fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle and operating a motor vehicle impaired by drugs, misdemeanors, and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.
His aggravated unlicensed operation charge stemmed from having 31 suspensions on 25 different dates on his New York driver’s license.
Allen was charge with violating probation, a felony, resisting arrest, a misdemeanor, and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.
Both men were arraigned in the Town of Greenburgh Court.
Sutton was sent to the Westchester County Jail without bail. Allen posted $1,500 bail and was released from custody.
They are scheduled to return to the Town of Greenburgh Court March 28.
