11-Month-Old Baby In Car As Driver Arrested On Sprain For Felony DWI: NYSP

GREENBURGH, NY — An early Sunday morning traffic stop Lin Westchester led to felony charges, after the driver was found to be intoxicated with a baby in the car, according to police.

At approximately 2:11 a.m., New York State Police in Hawthorne stopped vehicle traveling southbound on the Sprain Brook Parkway in the town of Greenburgh

During the traffic stop, the driver, identified as Jazmir I. Skeete, 31, of Tarrytown, showed signs of intoxication, according to troopers Standardized Field Sobriety Tests were administered. An 11-month-old child was a passenger in the vehicle, according to NYSP.

Skeete was taken into custody and transported to State Police Hawthorne for processing, where she submitted to a chemical breath test that showed a blood alcohol concentration of 0.13 percent.

The child was released to a sober third party.

Skeete was charged with felony aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child passenger (Leandra's Law), driving while intoxicated, operating a motor vehicle with 0.08 percent or more alcohol in the blood.

Skeete was issued traffic tickets returnable to the Town of Greenburgh Court on Sept. 18.
