, Inc., with special assistance from the Greenburgh/Elmsford Girl Scout Service Unit, will be conducting a free fun-filled family festival celebrating all children on Saturday, April 28, from noon to 4 p.m. at Deluca Park, corner of North Hillside Avenue and Frontage Street, Elmsford. The celebration will go on, rain or shine.
Known as El Día de los Niños, the family-oriented festival will feature a variety of activities and exhibits. Entertainment will include music provided by DJ Rick as well as performances and dance workshops conducted by Latin dancer Elliot Castro.
Guest speakers that day will include Paul Feiner, Town of Greenburgh Supervisor; Pam Anderson, CEO of Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson; and Nereida Quiles, a representative of 100 Hispanic Women, Westchester Chapter.

A variety of exhibitors will be on hand, ranging from the American Diabetes Association (promoting healthy food selections) and the Westchester County Office of Hispanic Affairs to Hudson Health Plan and TD Bank (focusing on financial literacy). The fire department will be there with their educational Smoke House, as will the police department with their children’s ID kits.
There will be a number of, literally, hands-on presentations offered throughout the day. For example, representatives of Phelps Memorial Hospital will demonstrate proper hand-washing techniques while employees from Regeneron Pharmaceuticals will perform science experiments and get the audience involved. Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson’s Techno Girls robotics team is expected to be on hand to show what their team-constructed robots can do. A camping exhibit, complete with a session of campfire songs, will be offered by Girl Scout volunteers.

Crafts will be provided by a number of Girl Scout troops as well as Michael’s craft store, Keller Williams Realty, and the Boy Scouts, among others. Food samples, water, and snacks will be distributed by a variety of vendors such as Sam’s Club, Burger King, Sofrito (Puerto Rican restaurant) of White Plains, Vega Mexican Restaurant of Hartsdale, and Sundance Deli in Pleasantville.
