
(Ossining, NY) Dr. Daren Wu, Chief Medical Officer at Open Door Family Medical Centers has announced the appointment of Dr. Rebecca Collins as Medical Director of Open Door’s Sleepy Hollow office.

A resident of Eastchester, Dr. Collins earned her doctorate of osteopathic medicine from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her Masters in Public Health at A.T. Still University, School of Health Management while in medical school. She completed her family medicine residency at Columbia University’s Center for Family and Community Medicine in New York City. Since graduation, she has worked in several community health centers and is passionate about providing high quality, evidence based care to the underinsured and underserved. Along with her position at Open Door, Dr. Collins is a faculty member at New York Medical College and is one of the founding faculty members of the new NYMC Phelps Family Medicine Residency program – a partnership between New York Medical College, Phelps Hospital Center and Open Door Family Medical Centers.

In 2011, 47,245 patients were treated at Open Door, making 208,622 patient visits. In the same year 14,520 children were treated. Funding for Open Door Family Medical Centers comes from local, state and federal grants as well as private foundations and individuals.
