As America marks 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence, what are the stories that we have told over generations? What stories do we still have left to tell–in large and small communities across this country? Who gets to tell and write those stories, and ensure they do not disappear? On June 18, join the Hudson Valley Writers Center, in-person or via livestream, for an epic celebration of language, community, and the power of narrative. Whether you come for five minutes, or for 250, we will be reading poetry and prose, playing music, excavating old stories and championing new voices. Together, let’s create The Word at 250.
