Chong Scores 39 As Ossining Routs Lady Horsemen
Sleepy Has No Answer For Sophomore Standout In 80-42 Blowout.

Saniya Chong's superior scoring output has been an aspect extremely paramount to success for an upstart Ossining team.
The sophomore is averaging a Section I-leading 31.6 points, as the essential ingredient and centerpiece of Ossining's souped-up, high-octane offense.
Chong, who registered her presence to the Section I world with one of the best performances ever at the County Center as a freshman (38 points against Mount Vernon) last year, scored 39 points to lead Ossining to a thorough 80-42 walloping of the Lady Horsemen at Sleepy Hollow HS on Dec. 20.

While Chong's killer crossover and spurtability decimated the defense of Sleepy Hollow, Ossining's Christina Rupp did significant damage in the paint.
Rupp turned in a double-double with 13 points and 15 rebounds and Dan Ricci's squad improved to 6-0 with the wire-to-wire trouncing.

After taking a commanding 44-19 lead into the half, Ossining reeled off a 24-5 spurt in the third quarter. The potent spurt put the game well out of reach for the Lady Horsemen (4-2).
For Sleepy Hollow, the shoe was on the other foot. After eating up three straight cupcakes of their early season schedule by a mammoth 29 point average margin of victory, Sleepy Hollow caught the deer-in-the-headlights look against one of Section I's best teams on this side of Carmel and Mount Vernon.
Kerry Oliveira continued to show promise in the frontline. While taming the explosive Rupp was a daunting task, Oliveira led Sleepy 10 points and nine boards, just missing a double-double.
Jamie Bucci added nine for the Lady Horsemen, who will look to bounce back from the shellacking by their cross-town rival as they close out 2010 at Rye Neck Dec. 23.
