communities all over country planning to start covid angels

Receiving e mails and calls from all over the nation

After NBC Nightly news with Lester Holt mentioned Greenburgh's newest innovation: our Covid Vaccine Angels - I received e mails and calls from all over the United States expressing interest in starting a similar program around the country!
We now have over 130 volunteers and are in the process of organizing a structure for the volunteer community effort so we can help as many seniors and residents as possible. We hope to start outreaching to seniors next week--helping them navigate the process. Our goal: Initiating calls to over 2,500 seniors in Greenburgh. We hope that the covid vaccine will become more plentiful soon and want to help everyone to get their appointment and vaccine so we can all be healthy, safe and free of Covid-19.
Right now -NYS has a limited supply of vaccines so it is difficult for every person to get an immediate appointment. I think that President Biden's administration will take action steps that will improve things so don't get discouraged! Our covid angels don't have any extra pull with the state or federal government --all they can do is do what everyone else is doing trying to help get people appointments.

FROM OKLAHOMA

Hello Mr. Feiner,
Congratulations on the national coverage of your program helping seniors register for the covid vaccine! I am an administrator for a career and technical education school in Norman, Oklahoma. We, along with other major community organizations, are looking for ways to help seniors register online for the covid vaccine. Since each group brings different resources to the table, we’re trying to determine the best way to organize and collaborate.

I am sure you are very busy but any insight you can offer will be greatly appreciated. If you’d prefer to talk, I hope to hear from you. Thanks so much.

FROM MARYLAND EXTERNAL: Do not click links or open attachments if you do not recognize the sender. Hi there, Love what you guys are doing in greensburgh and want to roll it out in Maryland. Would you be open to a quick call so I can learn how you set it up? Thank you!! Chace Conroy

FROM FLORIDA

Hello. I just saw the NBC news story. I live in Florida and am trying to find a way to help. I know you must be overwhelmed with emails, but I would love to help somehow! I am a retired RN and in Florida we supposedly quite a robust vaccine program here and I cannot seem to even find a way to be employed giving vaccines - except at the research center where I volunteered for the Pfizer vaccine (got the placebo but recently received my first does). While I love the idea of helping with researching new vaccines I just feel there is a more urgent need.

Can I help? Would really love to help in my state or NC where my parents are in assisted living and thankfully have received their first dose but the state is moving incredibly slowly!

Anything I can do I would love to do! You are amazing to have taken this on. Thank God for people like you.
