CT Man Accused Of DWI, Drug Possession
The man was originally pulled over for vehicle and traffic violations on the Thruway.

GREENBURGH, NY — A police stop of a car on I-287 yielded an arrest Feb. 3. State police said James A. Cheney, 58, of Fairfield, Connecticut, was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana and driving while intoxicated, misdemeanors, and multiple vehicle and traffic violations.
Police said that Cheney was pulled over around 1:20 a.m. Feb. 3 in the Town of Greenburgh for multiple vehicle and traffic violations.
During an interview with him, police said probably cause to search the vehicle was established.

Cheney was found to be intoxicated and was in possession of about 34 grams of marijuana, police said.
He was taken to the Tarrytown barracks where his blood alcohol content was determined to be 0.11 percent, according to the police.

Cheney was released to a sober third party on appearance tickets for Feb. 15 in the Town of Greenburgh Court.
