Elmsford's Dixson Holiday Show Draws Large Crowd
Youngsters perform a variety of holiday favorites

First-graders from the Carl L. Dixson School perform "Celebramos Juntos" during the school's annual Holiday Show.
Parents and other family members turned out in large numbers Dec. 20 to watch their little ones perform in the annual Carl L. Dixson Elementary School Holiday Show at the Alice E. Grady School, and just like previous years, it didn’t disappoint.
Starting off the hour-long performance in the Grady School gym, Mrs. Cilento’s Pre-Kindergarten students sang the “Winter Mitten Song” to everyone’s delight, followed by a variety of songs from kindergarten students. They included Mrs. Krasnici’s class singing “Jingle Bells,” Mrs. Capocci’s class singing “I’m A Little Snowman,” Mrs. Young’s class performing “Let It Snow,” and Mrs. Caggiano’s class singing “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town.”

The entire kindergarten class later performed the very cute holiday number, “I Want to Be an Elf.”
First-graders had their chance to shine, too, with children from Mrs. Diaz’s class singing “Celebramos Juntos” in both English and Spanish, Mrs. Plati’s class following up with “Because It’s Christmas” and Ms. Sanese’s class performing “When We’re Together.”

The entire first-grade class took to the stage for a performance of “Hip Hop Reindeer.”
Dixson staff and district administrators did their part, too, in a special skit called “Sleigh Ride,” which included Superintendent Dr. Marc Baiocco, Assistant Superintendent for Finance & Operations Gladys Pagan-Baxter, Director of Special Education and PPS Joanne Dobbins, AHHS Principal Joe Engelhardt, Assistant AHHS Principal Andrea Hamilton and Dixson Principal Jeffrey Olender.
The finale featured a performance of “Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer,” performed by all of the students at the school.
