Engine Cylinder Damage Found on Vintage Plane That Crashed in Hudson

The National Transportation Safety Board is still investigating the the cause of the crash.

Tarrytown, NY — Though the National Transportation Safety Board is still months away from the final report on the Hudson River crash that took the life of William Gordon May 27, there is new information about what could have contributed to the crash.

Federal investigators found damage on the engine cylinder of the plane and oil was found on the engine’s exterior, according to FIOS1News. com.

Gordon was flying a World War II vintage P-47 Thunderbolt which went down into the river around 7:30 p.m. His body was recovered the next day.
