Participants are encouraged to give a donation, no matter how small.

SLEEPY HOLLOW, NY — A local dance studio is celebrating National Ballroom Dance Week by offering a free, public dance class to anyone in the community who "wants to shake a leg for critically ill children." The Fred Astaire Dance Studio of Tarrytown will host the open ballroom dancing class to raise money for Make-A-Wish Hudson Valley.

The free class will be held from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26 at the studio located at 358 North Broadway, Suite 102, in Sleepy Hollow.

Studio owners Sasha and Olga Bylim pick a charity to help every year during National Ballroom Dance Week.

"Make-A-Wish Hudson Valley serves so many critically ill children in our area, so we know this is the right move — dance move, that is," Sasha Bylim said.

"We believe in the life-changing wishes their organization provides these kids just like we know about the life-changing benefits of ballroom dancing. That's why National Ballroom Dance Week is a great opportunity for us to partner with this amazing organization," he said.
