Governor signs law pushed by Greenburgh to give seniors a tax break
After 15 years, an increase in income level so seniors can be eligible for tax breaks
https://thehudsonindependent.com/state-county-take-steps-to-relieve-housing-burden/ Greenburgh successfully lobbied NYS to approve a new law that the Governor just signed that increases the maximum allowable income eligible for property tax exemptions to $50,000 for homeowners 65 and over. The current maximum is $29,000 The increase will help those on fixed incomes. First time in over 15 years that the amount was increased. I've been pushing the state to approve this new law for years. NYC residents have enjoyed the exemption and Westchester seniors deserved the same breaks. Very pleased with this success. PAUL FEINER
