Greenburgh landscape angels to be honored by Town Board

Helping the elderly with landscaping students donating time watch you tube link

This fall Greenburgh high school students, mostly from Edgemont and Ardsley HS, donated their time as part of the Landscape Angels initiative and helped eleven seniors with their landscaping needs. The landscape angels initiative program is two years old and was formed by Greenburgh summer interns who wanted to do more to help the community. The coordinators of the program are Noah Seifer, John Guerrero and Alex Shapiro.
The student landscape angels will be honored at the November 20th Town Board meeting at Greenburgh Town Hall which begins at 7:30 PM.

A short you tube video was created showing some of the landscape angels at work. Now that cold weather is in the forecast - the landscape angels will assume a new responsibility - continuing the Greenburgh snow angels program, now in its 32nd year. Volunteer snow angels clear snow from seniors and disabled residents driveway - providing the elderly with the comfort knowing that if there is an emergency someone will be available to get to their door and help them.

The landscape angels deserve our thanks for giving back to the community, helping the elderly have a safe and clean property and for putting smiles on the faces of the elderly by doing something so simple as raking some leaves. They are inspirations. Makes me and others feel optimistic about the future.
