Greenburgh Police to Get Motorcycle Unit
The department said it is more cost efficient to operate a motorcycle than a four-wheel vehicle.
The Town of Greenburgh will be getting a motorcycle unit for its police department.
The town board unanimously voted to create the unit at a recent meeting.
A presentation by Captain George Weisner explained to the board that his department hasn’t made any vehicle requests this year.

He said it costs less to operate a motorcycle than a four-wheel vehicle.
Also the motorcycles will be able to reach areas that larger vehicles cannot access.

“We believe it is a positive addition to the police department,” Weisner said.
