Greenburgh snow response plans for tomorrow

our plans to keep your roads passable

Snow Storm Response Plan – February 7, 2021--KEEPING YOU INFORMED OF OUR PLANS TO KEEP ROADS PASSABLE:

Latest Forecast: Steadier light snow arrives 6am to 9am tomorrow morning with snowfall rates up to 1.0”+ per hour. Storm totals in the 3” to 6” range mostly occurring midday.

  • Bureau of Highway – 7:00 am start to load salt spreaders, pre-treat roadways and plow approx. 140 miles of roadway (35 guys in total)
    • Water and Sewer Department to provide 2 additional plow trucks in support of Highway operations
    • Parks and Recreation to provide 2 additional plow trucks beginning at 7am in support of Highway operations
  • Bureau of Equipment and Repair – 7:00 am start to support Bureau of Highway operations (4 Mechanics)
  • Building Maintenance – 7:00 am start to begin snow removal at 7 Town Facilities
  • Parks and Recreation – 7:00 am start to begin snow removal on approx. 4 miles of pedestrian sidewalks. Ventrac snow blower to be used on East Hartsdale Ave. (10 guys in total)

FROM THE GOVERNOR'S OFFICE- "If the county center is closed, everyone will be notified about vaccine appointments." Appointments scheduled will be rescheduled.
GREENBURGH SNOW ANGEL INFO-- We have more demand than volunteers. During the recent snow storms our snow angels helped close to 50 seniors clear their driveways/pathways of snow. We depend on volunteers. If you would like to volunteer please e mail greenburghsnowangels@gmail.com.
