New York Recall: If You Eat Häagen-Dazs and Have a Peanut Allergy, Read This

Häagen-Dazs has recalled ice cream distributed throughout the Eastern part of the country because mismatched packaging doesn’t identify peanuts, which could be harmful to those with allergies. 

Nestle USA, Häagen-Dazs' parent company, has recalled 10,000 14-ounce cartons of Häagen-Dazs Chocolate Chocolate Chip Ice Cream that have a lid labeled as Häagen-Dazs Chocolate Peanut Butter.

The best buy date is May 13, 2015.  

The packages contain Chocolate Peanut Butter ice cream but the ingredient statement on the carton applies to Chocolate Chocolate Chip Ice Cream and does not identify peanuts.

“People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to peanuts may run the risk of serious or potentially life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product,” the company announced in press release. 

The ice cream was produced on May 13, 2014 and has been distributed in District of Columbia, Delaware, Florida, Maryland, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia.
