'It Takes a Village 10591' Hosts Celebration Luncheon Jan. 12
The Tarrytown group, which helps senior citizens remain in their homes, has been around for two years.

ITAV 10591, the Tarrytown group dedicated to helping seniors stay in their homes, is observing its second anniversary with a luncheon during its Jan. 12 meeting.
ITAV stands for “It Takes a Village” and the number is the zip code it serves. It plans to provide a range of services to meet common everyday needs that many seniors have difficulty with: shoveling snow, light work around the house and so on.
According to its mission statement, ITAV’s job is “To provide support & services that help seniors in our community to remain independent in their homes.” Its first major project is to provide rides for members to and from important appointments, like doctor visits.
