Lane Closures Announced for Ashford Avenue Bridge Work

Prefabricated spans will be installed.

GREENBURGH, NY — Work on the Ashford Avenue Bridge and ramp will mean lane closures next week.

According to information from the Westchester County Department of Public Works and Transportation, from Monday, Dec. 12 through Friday, Dec. 15, the following lane closures are planned for installation of prefabricated spans for Stage 1 of the new bridge:

Saw Mill River Parkway (Tuesday 8 p.m. until Wednesday 6 a.m.)

Northbound

  • Reduced to 1 lane from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.
  • CLOSED at Lawrence Street from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Southbound

  • Left lane closed from 8 a.m. to 5 a.m.
  • STOPPED approximately 4 times (15-20 minutes each time) between 10:00 PM and 5:00 AM

New York State Thruway - NONE

Ashford Avenue

  • 1 lane in each direction at all times until the summer of 2018.

Elm Street & South County Trailway - (below the bridge)

  • Alternating traffic controlled by Flaggers and potential 15 minute traffic holds for overhead span installation
  • Thursday & Friday 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
