Lane Closures in Tarrytown Begin Monday

Heavy delays can be expected so alternate routes should be used if possible.

TARRYTOWN, NY — Highway work in Tarrytown will mean lane closures on Route 119.

The state Department of Transportation said beginning at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 30 lane closures are expected to occur on Route 119 between Sawyer Avenue and the Interstate 287 on ramp.

Crews will be performing highway permit work activity involving sewer construction, the DOT said.

All westbound lanes are expected to be closed with traffic using the eastbound lanes for travel in both directions.

Police will be on hand for traffic control.

Closures are anticipated to last until Friday, Feb. 17.

The DOT said drivers should use caution when traveling through the work zone and pay particular attention to all traffic control devices including signs and flaggers.

Motorists should be aware that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone and that convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
