Lotus on Main Open for Business in Tarrytown

New business focusing on the healing arts now open.

If you’re into yoga, meditation, self-exploration, the healing arts and unique handmade jewelry, Tarrytown has a new stop for all your needs.

It’s called, Lotus on Main. It’s a personal healing and wellness center where you can leave all your stress and emotional baggage behind in a safe haven and spend a day of total relaxation.

The studio is located on 25 Main Street on the second floor; in the same building as Edible Arrangements. Three friends established it. Teddy Leveille, a long-time jewelry designer, her daughter Stephanie and her friend, Kelly Hill; both teach yoga. Stephanie is a varsity and junior varsity soccer and basketball coach at Ossining High School and a special education teacher at Brookside School also in Ossining.

The concept of opening their own studio came up last Christmas. Kelly was running her own massage and healing business until Stephanie and Teddy approached her and suggested that they run the business together. They each had one thing in common – a dream to combine wellness and the healing arts with a passion for handmade jewelry. The chemistry between all three of them clicked.

Teddy Leveille also had the desire to market her jewelry to the public. She’s originally from Tarrytown and her other daughter (Stephanie’s sister), teaches at Washington Irving School.

“We just decided that it was a nice combination to have the jewelry and yoga together,” Ms. Leveille said. "My business has been going on for 25 years and Kelly has been involved with yoga for about 12-15 years.”

Stephanie Leveille runs the business end of the shop and teaches yoga with Kelly. They also offer massages. She says the shop is a social outlet and a good excuse to get out of the house for a while. The trio also plans on expanding their offerings down the line.

"As the business gets a little bit busier, we want to implement individual and sport team training,” Leveille explained.

Kelly Hill noted that the shop would also be offering healing classes.

“We’ll be offering an introduction to meditation and healing classes," Hill said.  “I’ve been studying healing, emotional development and yoga for the last 12 years. I’ve been going to my clients’ homes for the past decade—setting up a table. It’s just nice to have a place to be where people could come into. It’s all self-expression and art and being who we are. To be supported by friends and family it’s an amazing things that dreams come true."
