Man Prevented From Jumping Off New Tappan Zee Bridge

TARRYTOWN, NY — Passing motorists on the new Tappan Zee Bridge called 911 after spotting a man who was trying to jump off the new span. The man, whose name has not been released, drove onto the new part of the bridge around 3:26 p.m Tuesday and tried to climb a fence to get to the new area.

He told troopers he was going to jump but was taken into custody first, the Daily Voice said.
