The MTA has plans to debut the technology on the Hudson Line in the Hudson Valley and the LIRR’s Port Washington Branch sometime in June.
Making e-ticketing available to all railroad customers by the end of 2016 is the MTA’s goal, according to a press release.
MTA eTix will be available as a stand-alone app or through the TrainTime app.
Customers will have the ability to check schedules, see service updates, purchase tickets, get refunds and request duplicate receipts.
