No Rain Delay for TZB Lane Closures: Thruway Authority
Buses will be added to the Tappan Zee Express route because of the anticipated traffic congestion.

Yes, rain is in the forecast for Sunday. No, it will not delay construction work and lane closures.
A spokesman for the Thruway Authority said Friday the triple-lane closures are proceeding as planned for tonight into Saturday and Saturday into Sunday.
As previously announced, the Thruway Authority will be closing three of the four northbound lanes—Westchester County to Rockland County—from 9 p.m. Friday, April 29, to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 30, and from 9 p.m. Saturday to 2 p.m. Sunday, May 1.

Motorists are advised there will be severe delays from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. for both days.
In addition, periodic traffic stops lasting up to 10 minutes of all four lanes of the northbound Thruway from exit 9 (Tarrytown—Sleepy Hollow—US Route 9) to the Tappan Zee Bridge will occur. New York State Police will stop and hold all traffic approaching the area.

All three southbound lanes will remain open the entire weekend.
Rockland County Executive Ed Day announced that additional buses will be added to the Tappan Zee Express route on Saturday because of the anticipated traffic congestion.
According to a release at newnybridge.com, the triple-lane closures are necessitated by the pier foundation work that will be undertaken near the Rockland shoreline.
