Police Shoot Raccoon

Sleepy Hollow police fired two rounds to kill a raccoon near the high school.

A caller reported to police that there was a raccoon near the high school side entrance on Bedford Road on April 8 at 7:22 a.m.

Sleepy Hollow police said they fired two rounds to kill the animal and contacted DPW Foreman Richard Gross to remove it.

This follows a recent incident of police having to shoot a possibly sick raccoons. Tarrytown police reported destroying a raccoon found on Green Street on March 25.
