Proposed $45M Elmsford SD Budget On The Ballot May 21

ELMSFORD, NY — The 2024 budget and school board vote is May 21, and two seats are up for election on the Elmsford Board of Education.

The proposed spending plan of $45,315,278 is 8.54 percent higher than the current budget.

The tax levy is expected to rise 1.76 percent.

District officials said that the budget would support: instruction and services to children, employee benefits, buildings and grounds, transportation, administration, and other areas.

  • continued support for all academic, co-curricular, and extracurricular programs
  • safety/security issues across all district building and grounds
  • technology infrastructure that meets instructional, administrative, and business needs
  • specific capital improvement projects to be addressed through capital reserve fund
  • cost efficiencies throughout district
  • transparency

Proposition #2: expend up to $9,586,251 from remaining balance of funds held in Capital Reserve Funds established in 2016 and 2018 to replace HVAC and building management system at Grady ES, replace roofing systems at Grady ES and Dixson Primary, replace classroom unit ventilators at Grady ES, repair/repave parking lot of AHHS, install districtwide security camers, replace districtwide phone system with VOIP, replace public address systems in AHHS and Grady ES.

Proposition #3: establish Capital Reserve Fund in 2024 of $5,000,000 for districtwide infrastructure.

Proposition #4: Repair Reserve Fund of $1.5 million.

Two board seats will be up for election.
