Quinn — Black Lab Mix, Confidence-Builder, Adoptable
This 3-year-old male was paired with a shy pooch to help build his confidence.
ELMSFORD, NY — Paws Crossed wants to introduce you to Quinn, a 3-year-old black lab mix. The people at the shelter said he is not only sweet and handsome, but he is a generous teacher and guidance counselor. They said his patience and understanding were the main reason his friend and roommate found his forever home.
Scott Salant, dog manager/behaviorist at Paws Crossed said when it was discovered what a wonderful temperament Quinn had, they made him roommates with an extremely shy dog named Jan, in the hope that he would teach Jan that it’s OK to trust people and to have some confidence.
“Through them living together, Quinn helped Jan to then interact in play groups with other dogs and, in turn, slowly allowed us to introduce him to additional people,” Salant said.

“The changes in Jan’s personality were amazing,” he said.

This past weekend, Jan was adopted — thanks to Quinn — so now it’s Quinn’s turn.
