Readers' Choice Results: J.P. Doyle's Wins Best Place to Spend St. Patrick's Day

We partied at the parade on Sunday, but we're not done yet. Readers selected this "real" Irish pub for the greenest winner this week.

Surprisingly, the parade itself came in a third place for this race, tied with going to mass and patronizing . The top votes went to J.P. with 44% (20 votes) and in second and always a tough contender with 33% (15 votes). 

One reader had this to say in praise of the pub, and correcting some myths (as used here) on green beer and corned beef:

Brian Meaney wrote, "I would say J.P. Doyle's because their food is good on a regular basis. They are the only 'real' Irish bar around. I don't think Irish seek out green beer like you mentioned. Lol. I have been celebrating in the Bronx and Manhattan for 46 years and have never seen an emerald brew. Corned beef is an American dish and is almost unknown in Ireland. Irish people eat ham and cabbage. Either way, enjoy and Slainte!"

He'll have to take this up with the tomorrow at the Senior Center on Elm Street at noon.
