Refuse Collection Changes For Columbus Day Week

Because of the holiday Monday, there will be some alterations to the schedules.

TARRYTOWN, NY — Because of the upcoming Columbus Day holiday, there will be some changes to the refuse collection in the villages of Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow.

For Sleepy Hollow, officials said all village offices and public works will be closed Monday.

All sanitation routes will be picked up Tuesday.

As of Thursday, bagged leaves will be picked up every Thursday until the end of the year or the first snow fall. Leaves must be bagged in a biodegradable bags.

For Tarrytown, Monday garbage will be picked up on Tuesday. Tuesday garbage will be picked up on Wednesday.

All recycling will be picked up on Thursday, and yard waste will not be collected the week of Oct. 12.
