Roundabout Construction Means Lane Closures In Westchester

The work, which begins Friday, is weather permitting.

GREENBURGH, NY — Motorists should be aware of lane closures planning for the end of this week in Westchester County.

The state Department of Transportation said lane closures and new traffic patterns at the Route 9A intersection with Route 100C and Old Saw Mill River Road in the towns of Greenburgh and Mount Pleasant will be put into place to facilitate the ongoing construction of a roundabout.

The work is, of course, weather permitting.

Beginning Friday, July 30:

  • State Route 9A will be reduced to one lane in each direction starting at 6 p.m. Motorists will also need to utilize the posted detour for the State Route 9A on and off ramps at State Route 100C through 6 a.m. Monday, Aug. 2.
  • The State Route 100C bridge will close to traffic at approximately 8 p.m. and remain so through approximately Nov. 19. Motorists on State Route 100C westbound will need to follow the posted detour utilizing Walker Road, Dana Road, Route 9A southbound and the ramp to Old Saw Mill River Road. Traffic on Old Saw Mill River Road eastbound traffic will follow the posted detour to State Route 100C and the State Route 9A northbound off ramp to State Route 100C.

Beginning at 6 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 2 through approximately Saturday, Nov. 19, the following new traffic patterns will be in effect.

  • State Route 9A southbound will be restored to two lanes.
  • State Route 9A northbound will follow the posted detour utilizing the State Route 9A on and off ramps for State Route 100C.

Motorists are urged to slow down and drive responsibly in work zones. Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of a person's driver's license.
