Route 119 Corridor To See New Businesses In Greenburgh

Tesla, Panera Bread and Chipotle Mexican Grill could be opening in Greenburgh.

TARRYTOWN, NY — New business may be coming to the Route 119 corridor in the Town of Greenburgh. Supervisor Paul Feiner said the electric car manufacturer and dealer Tesla has submitted an application for two town locations and two fast-casual food chains are coming as well.

“Our planning department and economic development team are working hard trying to encourage quality businesses to come to Greenburgh and the 119 business corridor,” Feiner said. “Their efforts are working.”

At a recent town board work session, a team representing Tesla identified two locations — 250 Tarrytown Road/Route 119, the former Joyce Leslie building, and 90 Fairview Park Drive — where the company wants to locate. [Get Patch’s Daily Newsletter and Real Time News Alerts here.]

The Fairview Park Drive location would be a Tesla dealership and would need a zoning ordinance amendment. The Route 119 location would be a customer education center, which is a permitted use.

In addition to Tesla, the former Greenbugh Neighborhood Health Center building on Route 119 was demolished to make way for a new business — Harbor Freight Tools — which is expected to open in the fall.

Coming to the Crossroads Shopping Center on Route 119 is Panera Bread, which plans to occupy a space close to DSW, and Chipotle Mexican Grill, which is opening a space by Pier 1.

The former Blockbuster/DAS Auto space at 201 Tarrytown Road could become an Anytime Fitness. That use requires a special permit from the zoning board of appeals.
