Rye's La Panetière Will Celebrate Bastille Day on Monday With Prix-Fixe Dinner and Accordion Music

To celebrate Bastille Day on Monday, July 14, 2014, La Panetière in Rye will offer a special, prix-fixe menu with a choice of roasted tenderloin of beef or medallions of farm rabbit as the main course. Special decorations and accordion music are planned.

The cost is $85 per person or $135 with wine coupling.

Bastille Day, a national holiday in France, commemorates the storming of the prison that was located at Place de la Bastille on July 14, 1789. The date is generally recognized as the day that began the revolution against the rule of King Louis XVI of France. 

The Bastile Day dinner menu at La Panetière follows:

  1. Chilled pesto-scented minestrone soup
  2. Emmenthal cheese soufflé with Morel mushrooms and asparagus velouté
  3. Grilled fillet of bronzino, Grenobloise-style fennel purée, primavaire of vegetables
  4. Roasted tenderloin of beef, Béarnaise sauce, petits légumes Farcis provençal style or medallions of farm rabbit, palette of artichoke variations, rosemary-black olive sauce
  5. Gâteau Cocarde tricolore
  6. Petits Fours
  • Wine coupling (optional): 
An accordionist will visit each table and play requests from patrons.

The cost is $85 per person without wine or $135 with wine pairing; tax and gratuity are additional. The dinner will be served from 6 to 9 p.m. on Bastille Day, Monday, July 14, 2014.
