Sentence Handed Down in Sleepy Hollow Stabbing
The accused pleaded guilty to manslaughter.

SLEEPY HOLLOW, NY — A Tarrytown teenager was sentenced in the 2015 stabbing death of Sleepy Hollow's Tahj Robinson.
Acting Westchester County District Attorney James A. McCarty said Wednesday Berinzon Moronta, 17, received 20 years in state prison for one count of first-degree manslaughter, a felony.
On October 9, 2015, around 11 p.m., police responded to a 911 call about a stabbing at Barnhart Park in Sleepy Hollow.

Upon arrival, police found Robinson, 17, unresponsive and lying on the ground bleeding from various wounds.
He was taken to Westchester Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 11:54 p.m.

Police said an investigation revealed that Moronta and several others had gone to the park to hurt Robinson.
Moronta approached Robinson and began stabbing him with a knife, resulting in multiple stab wounds to the torso, including wounds to his heart and lungs.
Moronta was arrested October 10, 2015, by Westchester County Police, in a joint investigation with the Sleepy Hollow Police Department.
