On Friday, the Sleepy Hollow girls varsity basketball team defeated Edgemont 59-31 on the back end of an away and home repeat match. The team is now 13-2 on the season.
Changing up strategy from Wednesday's game, Edgemont tried to shut down the inside game, leaving Sleepy Hollow's 3 point shooters wide open. Sleepy Hollow has four players, Jess Tucci, Jenny Bucci, Alex Davis-Sumter and Becca Leeper, who are strong from the arc.
Jenny Bucci continued her recent hot streak, hitting 4 3's for 12 points, while Jess Tucci put in 9, and Jamie Volpe had another strong game rebounding and shooting with 8 points. Grace Carr added 15 rebounds and 19 points.
The team plays Hastings away next Thursday at 4.45 pm.
