Sleepy Hollow 13YO Struck By Car Thursday
The child was in critical, but stable condition Thursday night.
SLEEPY HOLLOW, NY — A 13-year-old Sleepy Hollow girl, trying to cross a street, was critically injured when she was hit by a car Thursday. A 27-year-old Tarrytown woman was driving east on Beekman Avenue near Andrews Lane around 3:20 p.m. when she struck the child.
No charges had been issued as of Friday morning, but the woman stayed at the scene, submitted to sobriety, blood and urine tests and turned over her cellphone for the investigation, the Journal News said.
The girl was in critical, but stable condition Thursday night.

According to a message from Superintendent Christopher Borsari sent to the district, the girl is a student at Sleepy Hollow Middle School and she was admitted to Westchester Medical Center.
Borsari said the middle school administration, as well as the staff at all district schools, are prepared to help any students who have been affected by the news.

He advised parents to pay particular attention to how their children are reacting to news about their fellow student, and if parents have any questions or concerns, they should not hesitate to contact their school's principal, guidance counselor or school psychologist.
