Posted their third win of the season 8-3 against the North Salem Blue Aces. Josh Ortiz led in goal with a scoreless first half. Defenders used techniques from practice to clear the ball over the oncoming offense. Eoghan Glynn delivered his second hat trick of the season with the tight support of an offensive line that executed heads up passing. Other goals were scored by Thaddeus Kromelis, Jack Uyaguari, Dhary Suqui and Keaton Greenberg. Every member of the team contributed to the game and showed development and determination. Coach Edward Greenberg’s boys remain undefeated.

2007 Boys Dutchmen

Improved to 3-0 this weekend after beating the Port Chester Dragons 4-0. The game was tight throughout and although coach David Hille’s boys had many scoring opportunities, they could not capitalize. With about 4 minutes left in the game, the Dutchmen broke through and scored off a corner kick. The boys then scored three more goals in quick succession over the next few minutes before the final whistle. The Dutchmen displayed beautiful and unselfish passing throughout the game, and played extremely strong defense.

2007 Boys Dynamo

Notched a 3-2 win this past Sunday against White Plains 2007 White. The Dynamo boys played their best possession game of the season yet, controlling the tempo of the game from the first to last whistle blows. Jayden Perez dominated the midfield, with strong support from outside backs Abraham Achkar and Erick Guzhnay. Henry Scheller played a solid game at striker and, once again, Carlos Almonte held down the fort at center fullback. Scoring for the Dynamo this week were Jayden Perez, Henry Scheller and team scoring leader, Erick Guzhnay. Coach Brad Scheller’s squad hosts the Mamaroneck Yellow Gunners at home this Sunday at noon.

2007 Girls Blaze

Coach John Sutherland’s girls came out strong against the Transylvania Red Storm keeping the ball on the Red Storm’s side of the field for the first fifteen minutes of the game. The Blaze made 3 hard shots on goal by Zoey Murphy, Juliana Marvin and Lizzy Molina but none were able to reach the back of the net. The Red Storm fought back and managed to score two breakaway goals ending the half with the Blaze down two goals to zero. Early in the second half, the Red Storm was called for a handball in box and Lizzy Molina scored on the penalty kick. A few minutes later Ellie Fox scored the equalizer to even up the game. The Blaze went on to score 2 more goals. The first was on a penalty kick made by Juliana Marvin and the second was made after Gemma Fante stole the ball on a throw-in and passed the ball to Lizzy Molina who made the goal. The Red Storm came back with a late game goal which made for a few tense final minutes. In the end it was the Blaze on top with a final score of 4 to 3.

2006 Girls Storm

Tied the Quick Strike Patriots Rush by the score 2 – 2. On a brilliant Silent Sunday of soccer, these two teams put forth an exciting game for the crowd. After being stymied for most of the first half by Storm co-captain and goalie #4 Ava Bertiz, the undefeated Patriots scored an opening goal midway through the period. With offensive pushes by #5 Ashley Richardson and #11 Talia Lieberman the Storm worked hard to even the score, but it was 0-1 going into the break. The Patriots got a second goal early in the second half to go up 0-2, but Storm forward #8 Emily Orellana was on a mission and had two excellent boots go just high until one finally found the back of the net to get the team on the board. Minutes later, Ava Bertiz evened the score at 2-2 when she wove her way in for a nice blast from just in front. Both teams had chances late, but the Storm defense, led by #16 Elsa Block, denied all advances by the opponent. #14 Anastasia Mazon also had a solid turn in goal for the Storm, who are now 1 win, 2 ties and no losses. Next week the Storm travel to Rye. The Storm are coached by Kevin Richardson, Thomas Lipping and Tom Andruss.

2006 Boys Warriors

Faced another strong Division 3 opponent this week and lost 7-1 to the Port Chester Mustangs. Next week they travel to take on the White Plains Dragons.

2006 Boys Firebolts

Coached by Ricardo Gonzalez played against New Rochelle Pumas. An aggressive attack and control of the ball allowed the team to score six goals in the first half. In the second half the team focused on passing and ball possession which led to a 9-3 final score. Goals were scored by : Ollie Gonzalez (3); Alex Lozada (2); Henry Patino, Tiernan Fahy, Brandon Arevalo and Nico Wang. Goalies: Nico Wang, Brandon Arevalo and Aarav Kumar. Next game vs Greenburg Utd Phoenix at Hackley Field.

2005 Boys Legends

Returned to their winning ways after their first lost in 3 seasons last week. Coach Herbert Weltig managed the squad for vacationing Coach Fergus O’Sullivan and delivered an 8-4 win against the Greenberg United Condors. Lefty Nikhil Weltig was player of the game with 4 goals and 1 assist. Hernan Quinde earned two goals and one assist. Adrian Rodriguez had one goal and one assist. Jai Weitzen finished the scoring with 1 goal. Kenneth Suqui, Julien Siegel and Kieran O’Sullivan were each credited with an assist. With the win the Legends climb into third place.

2005 Girls Cyclones

Coached by Mike Levine, Nick Tsilibes and Tracey Koch tied 4-4 against the West Side Red Bulls. The goaltending by Lauren Koch was again stellar and the Cyclones displayed great teamwork during a very competitive game. Goals were scored by Thalia Tsilibes (3) and Emma Behrens. The team next plays away against the Pleasantville Warriors.

2004 Boys Argentina

Lost a tough match against Rye Brook 1-3. Argentina had multiple opportunities to tie the match and outplayed the opponent during the second half. Rye Brook was ultimately a better team and well organized including a goalkeeper which stopped multiple shots including a penalty kick. Oliver scored the lone goal. Alex Searle and Kyle Eddington earned Men of the Match honorable for their spectacular play. Argentina continues to work on multiple facets of their game and will improve as the season goes on. Attendance at training and matches has been excellent as well. Next Sunday Lewis Louis’s squad visits a very good Scarsdale team.

2004 Boys River Titans

Coach Scott Burnett had his team ready at home against Chapppaqua. The first half action started quickly. The Titans set the tone with a great pass from Julian Bermeo to Matthew Lopez scoring the first goal! Next Oli Monteforte gained position of the ball, drove to the goal, and finished with a kick to the back of the net! Julian Bermeo then scored off a beautifully placed free kick! Zach Burnett posted his first goal of the game, bringing the ball to the goal and finishing with a bullet to the back of the net! Closing out the first half - Javier Villa, always in great position, shot the ball with authority and over the goalies head for the Titans 5th unanswered goal in the first half! With just 10 minutes left in the game Zach Burnett scored the last goal from a beautiful assist by Henry Lazo! GO TITANS!!

2004 Girls Hurricane

Max Verna’s girls climbed into the top half of the standings with a 4-1 win against the Yonkers Rush Cardinal. They travel this week to play the undefeated Scarsdale Galaxy.

2003 Girls Strikers

Tied their first away game against John Jay G03 Surge 1-1. The Strikers dominated the majority of possession and did well to use the width of the field to stretch out their defense. They were able to create opportunities and scored the opening goal 15 minutes into the first half. The Strikers continued to attack but couldn't find the back of the net again. A few times the home team created a counterattack but the defense was up to the challenge. One shot was parried over the crossbar by the outstretched hand of the Striker goalkeeper. The second half saw more possession dominated by the Strikers, but they were not able to find that second goal to give a more comfortable lead. With about 10 minutes left in the game John Jay made a long pass into the penalty area. The Striker goalkeeper came out too far and the ball took a very big bounce over her head and into the back of the net. This gave the home team momentum to withstand the several attacks the Strikers had left in them. This weekend Matt Evans’ girls are back home against Castleford G03 Hawks 12:00 at Washington Irving Turf Field.

2002 Girls Mustangs

Returned to the win column with an impressive 5-0 victory over undefeated Somers. Sam Livingston and Talia Fante both scored two goals. Britany Alban finished scoring by faking out the Somers’ sweeper, then keeper, and dribbling into the goal. Britany also managed two assists, while Sophie Sylves-Berry and Maddy Navin each recorded one. Julia Costa made the play of the game at keeper deflecting a bullet over the crossbar and preserving the shutout. The defense of Emma Clarke, Annie Dineen, Grace Ryan, Sophie Sylves-Berry, and Sam Livingston earned their second shutout of the season. Coach John Sutherland’s team kept their championship hopes alive and have climbed back into second place in the top division.

2002 Boys Los Gauchos

Played White Plains 2002 JV yesterday. Los Gauchos had never before beaten this team. White Plains’ extreme size, speed, and physicality had always outmatched Los Gauchos small players' skill set. The boys trailed 0-1 at halftime and won 3-1. They could have easily scored 12. Coach Lewis Luis and Bill Julian emphasize positional play which helps deal with fatigue and makes players anticipate the ball much quicker. Despite the tough competition Los Gauchos managed 350 passes. This is only the 2nd match in competitive soccer for most of the Gauchos. In terms of development and game understanding they are about 5-10% of what they will be by the end of the spring season. Please view the video posted below to see Los Gauchos play style in action.

Welcomed the Rye Brook Blitz into Tarrytown on Sunday. The Blitz started out with an early goal at 5 minutes with a shot from 25 yards out into the top corner over the outstretched hands of AJ Casiano. The Tornadoes came back with a goal from Michael Richards at the 20th minute off a nifty pass from Ethan Fox just outside the box. At the 22nd minute of the second half the Tornadoes finally went up 2-1 off a goal from Dennis Feran from a through ball by DJ Cronin. Jonathan Orellano just missed the insurance goal on a counter at the 30th minute by pushing the ball off the outside post. Coach Gary Fairley’s Tornadoes dominated the possession game and for the third game in a row had more than 250 passes. Their next game is in New Rochelle against the other undefeated team, The Elite of New Rochelle.
