U9 Girls – Blaze

The Blaze earned a hard fought 3-0 victory over the North Salem Strikers.
The Blaze controlled the ball, but was scoreless for most of the first half. The Strikers crowded the box and denied great shots. Ashley Richardson finally broke through with a first goal off a rebound and a second on a breakaway assisted by Zoey Murphy.
It was the best team effort of the season. Great games from Gabby Disney as a stopper, Michayla Benuscak with far throw-ins and Siiri Lipping in goal with several one on one saves.
Kayla McGuigan had the play of the game with a strong move to the corner, pivot at the goal line and a strike to the far post for the third goal.
The Blaze play the Rye Havoc in two weeks.
