The Red Comets won 3-1 and look forward to ending the season with another strong effort against a tough Pelham team they fought to a tie last season.

2008B Fusion brought their winning record to a lossless 7-0, in dreary conditions at the Greenburgh United Panthers. A stalemate for much of the first half, both teams where engaged in a defensive battle. There were multiple shots on goal by Pierce Davis, Jack Zhunio and Ian Papadopoulos, but it just before halftime when Justin Paute put the first point of the game, on a strong kick from a distance. Dylan Largo, the Fusion first half goalie, saw some pressure from the Panthers, but another a strong effort from Fusion back line, with impressive performances by Raul Socualya, Dylan Pasato and Edwin Dutan, kept the Panthers at bay.
A few minutes into the second half, Dutan scored Fusion's second goal on a defensive takeaway. Fusion brought much pressure in this second half, but Panther goalkeeping was able to deflect repeated shots on goal from Dutan, Zhunio, Kieran Degen and Julian Patino. After several key stops by Davis in goal during the second half, the Panthers were able to score and avoid the shutout. Fusion remained in control and kept bringing pressure, with a breakthrough in the final minutes by Jezrael Panama who was able to take control of a Panthers goal kick and secure Fusion's victory.
Fusion found the Panthers to be a tough opponent but were able to hold on for the 3-1 final score win. Team Fusion next play at home against the New Rochelle Tornadoes on November 12.
2007 Girls Blaze
On a rainy and foggy Sunday, the Blaze, coached by John Sutherland, Annette O’Hanlon & Chris Junge, battled to a decisive 2-0 win over the Yonkers Quickstrike Patriots. Girls from both teams played well in the high energy matchup. It was the Blaze who played a tighter game, with strong passing and significantly more shots on goal. With only two weeks left in the Fall season, its full steam ahead for the Blaze. On Sunday, Blaze will once again meet the Castleford Lions here at home. Good luck girls!

2005 Boys Red Devils
The Red Devils Coached by Francisco Mendieta, Mark Taylor and Cedric Smith, are in the top position with a record of 6 wins and 1 tie which gives them 19 points. Christopher Panjon, Justin Robles, Marco Contreras or Ludwin Tenezaca are playing great in the mid-field and Aiden Smith, Campbell Greenberg and Frank Mendieta leading the attack. Final Score was ...Red Devils 3 vs Yonkers Utd Blizzard 2.
2002 Girls Mustangs
Took on undefeated juggernaut Harrison with hopes of avenging an earlier 0-6 loss. Harrison has steamrolled division 1 with many talented and large premier players on their roster. They had scored 32 goals and allowed none through the first 6 games of the season. The Hornets arrived with a squad of 20 players to face the Mustang roster of 13. The Mustangs switched to a more defensive formation and were able to thwart the Hornets offense throughout the game. Julia Costa was excellent at keeper with a notable deflection of a hard high shot into the crossbar. Defenders Emma Clarke, Sophie Sylves-Berry, Arianna Vizcaino, Lily Rodrigues, Isabella Chambers, and midfielders Maya Weitzen, Abigail Oppenheim, Talia Fante, and Britany Alban competed well and frustrated the Hornets with solid defense and possession soccer. The Mustangs almost scored first on a Juliana Largess cross that just missed connecting with Sophia Khosrowshahi. Harrison unfortunately got on the score board next with a well-executed corner kick header. Evelin Chacha provided fresh legs for the Mustangs and extra pressure on the vaunted Hornet defense. Harrison showed their frustration committing multiple fouls. One egregious violation involved a deliberate elbow to the back of Juliana Largess’s neck, in the Harrison box, sending her to the ground and out of the game. This would have resulted in a likely game tying penalty kick if the ref had noticed. With one-minute left Sophia Khosrowshahi out motored the advancing Harrison Keeper on a bouncing Maya Weitzen through ball and headed the ball over her head for the tying score. Harrison was in shock and the Mustangs cheered until the ref called offside. The game finished with a 0-1 loss but the coaches, parents, and players were proud of the girl’s effort and improvement. The Mustangs remain in second place and next have a chance to even the series against Pelham who won the first matchup 1-2.
