2008 Girls Red Comets

Won 4-0 against Chappaqua at home and improved to 6-2-1. The team played a strong overall game executing good passing and aggressively going after the ball. Abigayle Maceyak and Mia Martinez both had stand out games. Maceyak scored two goals for the Comets in the first half. In the second half Mia Martinez scored a goal. She added an assist when she blasted a corner kick right in front of the goal that Corina Armster delivered home for a score. The positioning and work that Coach Armster had the Comets work on practicing corner kicks the week before paid off. With a win in their final game, the Red Comets will finish in second place in their division.

2008 Boys River Sharks

Ended their first fall season with a W. With a concentrated effort to keep in their positions the River Sharks were able to execute quickly up field and deliver 10 shots on goal, 6 of which landed in net. Eoghan Glynn netted 2 goals, one assisted by a half field pass, perfectly placed by Luca Dominguez and the other assisted by a long pass from Alessandro Soto after he broke from the midfield defense. Jack Uyaguari put a thoughtfully placed penalty shot through the goalie after being tripped and Josh Ortiz pounded a direct kick into the corner of the net from just inside the far corner of the box. Henry Warden and Keaton Greenberg each had unassisted breakaway goals. Brandon Quituisaca & Pablo Quezada held their postions at wing and pushed the ball up-field consistently creating opportunities. Luca & Henry were rock solid in defense and allowed just one breakaway in the first half. Thaddeus Kromelis was fast and effective at midfield and striker in the second and held the opposition scoreless as the first half goal tender. As goal tender in the second half, Alessandro Soto made several miraculous saves and edge of box deflections to hold the opposition to just one goal. With hard work and focus on passing and position The River Sharks forged a terrific, first of franchise, Fall season.

2007 Boys Dutchmen

Finished off their fall campaign with a 3-1 win over Pelham to preserve their undefeated season and to win their division. Pelham came out strong and had the Dutchmen on their heels for the first few minutes. The boys then steadied themselves and applied consistent pressure until they found the net. Pelham made the Dutchmen work hard to earn the win. Coach Hille is very proud of the skill and sportsmanship shown by this players this fall and thanks Mary Slattery, team manager, and Zack Bernstein, youth volunteer, for all of their help. The team is looking forward to the Somers Fall Classic next weekend.

2007 Boys Dynamo

Finished their fall season strong with a 3-0 win over the Port Chester Dragons on Sunday at Crawford Park in Rye Brook. The boys played one of their best possession games of the season, keeping the Dragons under constant pressure. The game ball goes to Jayden Perez, who netted all three of the Dynamo's goals for the team's first hat-trick of the season! Jayden put home his first goal off a rebound from a great long strike from Henry Scheller that bounced off the framework. Minutes later, Jayden and Erick Guzhnay combined a series of crisp passes inside the 18 to create space and push a second goal through. The Dynamo's third goal came from a great penalty shot, again from Jayden Perez, who was fouled inside the box. The Dynamo defense anchored by Pierce Davis in goal, with Carlos Almonte in the middle and Edwin Dutan and Raul Socualaya on the flanks, did its usual outstanding job shutting down the Dragons' offensive attempts. Midfielders Eric Guzhnay, Jayden Perez and Henry Scheller were fantastic at pushing the ball up field and controlling the pulse of the game. Jezreal Panama and Leo Mejia also played great in the midfield for the Dynamo. Up front in the striker position, the "Jacks" -- Jack McCarthy and Jack Zhunio -- worked hard to keep the Dragons' back line spread thin. A great end to a solid fall season for the Dynamo. And a special thanks to all the Dynamo parents for supporting the team at practice and from the sideline all season, including the coffee and donuts after Sunday's game!

2007 Girls Blaze

On a rooftop in NYC, the Blaze met the DUFC Blue on Sunday. While the DUFC played tough on their home turf and were able to take several shots on goal, Emily Aridas was on point as keeper and held them off. The defense brought their A game and the Blaze was able to maintain greater control of the ball and keep the play largely one-sided. The impressive Blaze offense - including Juliana Marvin, Lizzy Molina and Julissa Casiano - helped advance down field and make several goal attempts. Unfortunately, the DUFC defense kept them at bay and the score was 0-0 at the half. The second half began with a noticeable uptick in intensity from both teams. Gemma Fante quickly found an opening and placed a beautiful shot, scoring early in the second half. Blaze led 1-0. With great coordination and teamwork, the Blaze held their ground and finished with a 1-0 win. The team, coached by John Sutherland and Howard Allen, has had a great fall season. The girls have had fun, advanced their skills and the teamwork has paid off with a 7-0-1 (wins/losses/ties) record. The final game of the season will be played on Sunday in Randall's Island, as the undefeated Blaze take on the Manhattan Lyon team.

2006 Girls Storm

Coached by Kevin Richardson, Thomas Lipping, and Tom Andrus started Sunday tied for second place with the Rye Brook Storm. The standings turned out to be accurate as both teams battled to a 3-3 tie at Hackley field. The local girls next face last place Mamaronek and will likely be promoted to divison 4.

2006 Boys Warriors

Coached by Matt Weidner, Todd Dorman and Chris Junge, won their final regular season game with a 4-3 victory over the Pelham Nifty Lions. The Warriors started strong and controlled the balance of play in the first half, taking a 2-0 lead into the break. In the early part of the second half, the Warriors continued to play well and built a 4-1 lead, but the Nifty Lions rallied late and scored two goals, setting up an exciting finish to the game. The teams went end to end in the final furious minutes, but the Warriors hung on for the win. All-in-all the Warriors made tremendous strides during the fall season. After struggling early and suffering 3 straight losses, the team started to play with more skill and teamwork both offensively and defensively and went 2-2-2 over the balance of their schedule. The Warriors hope to finish off the season with a good showing at the Somers Fall Classic Tournament next weekend.

2006 Boys Firebolts

Finished the season playing two games in the last weekend. On Saturday, they beat the Rye Flames 6-0 and on Sunday they defeated Pleasantville Arsenal 6-0. During both games, the team showed excellent ball control, an accurate passing game and excellent defense. The last two wins helped the Firebolts secure first place in their division.

2005 Boys Legends

Sitting No 2, played league leading Mamaroneck away on a beautiful Sunday afternoon, with the title at stake. The first quarter was tight with chances at both ends, including Andrew hitting the bar; in the 2nd quarter the Legends increased the pressure and scored the opener on a through ball from Nikhil to Justin. Justin could have given up as the keeper was favorite, but kept up the chase and was duly rewarded. Mamaroneck equalized 2 minutes into the 2nd half off a belted half volley from 25 yards, and the Legends were back in 2nd place. They buckled down though with excellent defence (Kalle, Luke, Kieran, Massimo and Jai) and defensive-mid play from Kenneth, holding Mamaroneck to one chance which showed keeper Tito displaying his high-catching skills. On the other end, Adrian scored with a stretched shot that scraped past the keeper off a feed from Massimo. Then Hernan toe poked a pass from Julien into the corner to make it 3-1. With a minute left, Nikhil beat his defender and knocked in a cross across the six, with his right and Justin steamed in to finish exuberantly!. The Legends are Champions again.

2005 Girls Cyclones

Lost 1-3 to Pleasantville. Mike Levine’s squad next faces Yonkers with a chance to cement 3rd place in division 3.

2004 Boys Argentina

Closed out a rather difficult season with a resounding 7-1 victory away at Rye Hawks. After many close defeats Argentina fielded a squad that was very focused from the start. Led by captains Alex Searle and Sebastian Lund, they completed over 300 passes throughout the match. Goals from Kenny, Gabriel, Randall, Alex and Lucas made the difference as well assisted by Ryan, Peter, Gabriel, Oliver and Lucas. Outstanding midfield play by Justin Randall and Lucas. Goalkeeping was done by Gabriel, Ryan and Oliver.

2004 Boys River Titans

Remain undefeated after beating Greenburg 7-1! The attack game was working well Sunday - yet the story couldn’t be told without recognizing the Titans defense and midfield. Titan games can be defined by the solid play of their defense: Andres Illescas, Henry Lazo, Carlo Ricchiuti and Jeff Guarango. The midfield is dominated by: Kyan Aguilera, Oliver Monteforte, Brandon Morocho and Jason Duque. The Titans offensive front is led by Zach Burnett, Julian Bermeo, Maximos Matailo, Mathew Lopez, Sean Wozniak and Javier Villa. The first goal Sunday came quick with a pass by Oli to Mathew. Max up next fielded the ball and scored. Soon after Brandon passed - Javi then bounced the ball to Zach who finished. Zach then shot on goal with Javi getting the scoring rebound goal. Finishing the half had Javi with a corner kick short play to Kyan who kicked a dramatic long shot to the back of the net, finishing the half. Greenburg scored first in the 2nd half, allowing Carlo the opportunity to answer back with a great score. Brandon deservingly finished the game with a goal of his own. A shout out to our goalies - 1st half, Thomas Black and 2nd half Maximos. The Titan coaching staff, Scott Burnett, Pepe Monteforte and Dan Black are privileged to be part of this amazing team. GO TITANS !!!

2004 Girls Hurricane

Remain undefeated in the second half of the season after a tough 2-2 tie to Rye. Their streak will be on the line when Max Verna’s girls face first place Chappaqua to finish the season Sunday.

2003 Girls Strikers

Led by Coaches Matt and Arjen traveled to N. Salem to take on the division champs! The N. Salem team has won every game and has scored 24 goals and only gave up 2 the whole season. The coaches adjusted their strategy and formation to compensate against this strong team. We played a more defensive game with a lone forward, looking for the opportunity to counterattack. The strategy paid off. The defense held strong by Michelle and Muriel with support of Emma S, Anna Lizzie, Kaitlin, Nataly and Asja. Goalkeeper Alicia did well to "keep her line" and cut down the angle coming up big on several saves. One save unfortunately rebounded to the oncoming attacker which she was able to shoot past Alicia. That opened up the scoring; however, the Strikers didn't get deterred by giving up the goal. They continued focus on the game and were able to get one back by great combination of passes by Caroline and Daphne to find Melanie in a break away to score a goal to tie up the game. The Strikers rejuvenated by this goal continued to play hard finding several more scoring opportunities, however they GK was up to the challenge and made several saves to deny the Strikers the victory. The defense stayed strong to the final whistle not allowing the home team to build many scoring chances. Game finished a 1-1 draw. Next week the Strikers take on 2nd place Port Chester Stallions. We know this will be a tough physical match, but the girls are more than up to the challenge.

2002 Girls Mustangs

Missed out on Division 1 championship with a 0-5 loss to White Plains. The Mustangs couldn’t afford a tie if the wanted to be champs and had to play aggressive all game against a squad that had only allowed 4 goals all season. After a 0-0 half, White Plains broke through for the 1-0 lead. Needing to score 2 goals to win the Mustangs continued to press hard and White Plains took advantage with excellent positioning and discipline capitalizing on every Mustang mistake. The girls learned much from the loss and prepare to start the indoor winter season.

2002 Boys Los Gauchos

Played a 7-1 Somers team to decide 2nd place. Somers is a very big and physical opponent, with fast forwards. Los Gauchos played with 12 players. Los Gauchos put on a master class in possession futbol. Winning 5-2. Completed 465 passes and had 41 shots on goal. Credit to Somers outstanding GK who made numerous saves to keep their team in the match. Los Gauchos jumped to a 3-0 lead and never looked back. All scores by Ethan, Franklin and Jack came from quality passing. Mateo Lewis, the creative playmaker controlled the midfield, had a hand in all goals and completed over 100 passes. Defensively Dylan, Jhonatan, Ethan, Ryan and Nik completely shutout a team which had already accumulated 48 goals thru 7 games. High pressing by Jack, Derek, Franklin, Ryan and Paul force Somers to boot the ball constantly. Somers scored both goals off free kicks. Los Gauchos will finish at home next Sunday vs Scarsdale.

2001 Boys Tornados

Dominated the game early as Carlos Suqui scored off a lone effort right up the middle of the Pelham defense at the 12 minute mark. Carlos was not done as he struck again with 8 minutes to go in the first half with a shot to the top corner off a surgical through ball from Wes Maseko. The Tornadoes made it 3-0 early in the second half when Sebastian Campuzano dropped the base from 40 yards out off a free kick that rocketed over the Pelham keepers outstretched arms. Four minutes later, Carlos Suqui played a nice give and go with Diego Zhishpon who scored on a breakaway to make it 4-0. With 5 minutes to go Carlos Suaui recorded another assist with a precise through ball to Wes Maseko who hammered it in the back of the net. All in all it was a complete domination by the Tornadoes with an excellent display of possession and patient soccer. This was a continuation of the excellent play in the two previous games. In the last 3 games the Tornadoes outscored their opponents 13-2. The Tornadoes ended the season with a very respectable 6-1-2 record and in all likelihood will be moving up to JV Division 1 come spring.
