The Sleepy Hollow girls varsity basketball team beat Eastchester 74-62 on the road Friday evening to go to 10-2 on the season. Down 1 point after both the first and second quarters, Sleepy steadily pulled away in the second half of another high scoring game against a persistent, well-coached opponent.
Junior guard Alex Davis-Sumter put in 20 points. Senior forward Jamie Volpe had her best game of the season, rebounding on both ends, scoring 9 points on jump shots, put backs and at the line, and defending well. Senior forward Grace Carr added 27 points and was 9/10 at the line.
Tuesday (4.45 pm) the team is on the road again against Pelham, looking to revenge an earlier loss and vying for the league title.
