'Snow Angel' Volunteers Needed In Greenburgh

There is still time to sign up to be a volunteer to help seniors with snow removal in the town of Greenburgh.

GREENBURGH, NY — With a major snowstorm heading to Westchester County, the town of Greenburgh is issuing an appeal for volunteers to help shovel snow.

Supervisor Paul Feiner said in an email that "snow angels" are needed to help Saturday.

"We are anticipating a major snow storm tonight and tomorrow," he said. "And many seniors have asked for assistance from our volunteer snow angels."

Feiner said there are more requests for help than volunteers.

To that end, he's asking people to fill out this form if they are willing to volunteer.

"Residents who receive help from snow angels should know that since we depend on volunteers we can't promise that everyone who receives snow angel help will get their driveways plowed on day one," Feiner said, adding that after past storms it sometimes takes a few days to get to all who need help.
