At 9:50 p.m. March 28, State Police were patrolling I-87 northbound in Tarrytown when they observed a white GMC Jimmy speeding.
Troopers pulled the vehicle over and interviewed the two occupants. The driver, a 44-year-old Spring Valley man, told police his license was suspended. The passenger, also from Spring Valley, was found to have a revoked license as well.
The men were detained after the Trooper smelled marijuana inside the vehicle, and arrested when Troopers located 15 wax envelopes containing a total weight of approximately 5 grams of heroin along with a straw containing heroin residue in the GMC, police said.
A State Police K-9 was deployed and alerted to the location of a small amount of marijuana hidden inside the vehicle.
One admitted ownership of the heroin and the other admitted ownership of the marijuana, police said.

During processing, Troopers discovered a warrant out of New Jersey on the passenger for possession of drug paraphernalia. The Glen Rock Police Department was notified; however, he was not extraditable from NY.
