Starbucks Coming to Central Avenue in Greenburgh

Starbucks is planning to open a new coffee shop in the former Pea Pod grocery facility on Central Avenue in Greenburgh, according to Town Supervisor Paul Feiner.

The company recently received a town building permit to begin work on the new location, which is north of Ardsley Road across from the Hartsdale Diner.

It is expected to open sometime in early 2016, Feiner said in a statement.

The coffee chain currently has Westchester locations in Ardsley, Dobbs Ferry, Hartsdale, Scarsdale, Yonkers, White Plains, Tuckahoe, Bronxville, New Rochelle, Larchmont, Mamaroneck, Rye Brook and Chappaqua, among others.

Starbucks has flirted with a move into Greenburgh at least as far back as 2007, when the company a move into the former Gaseteria location on Central Avenue, according to town officials.
